Rebecca
Fondly nicknamed “the sledgehammer” by one of her clients, Rebecca Jaycox has more than nine years of editing experience. Although she is a full-service editor, her true passion and specialty is developmental editing. Examining the story at a micro and macro level, she strives to deliver to her clients an in-depth, comprehensive edit that will elevate their story to the next level. Under her tutelage, Rebecca’s goal as an editor is for her clients to blossom into the best writers they can be. After working with Rebecca, clients have gone on to land agents and book deals or have successful careers as indie authors.
In addition to her freelance experience, Rebecca served as the editor-in-chief for Aelurus Publishing, a science fiction/fantasy imprint of Untold Publishing in the UK, for five years. There, she oversaw all aspects of editing, including taking on acquisition duties and finding new and exciting talent.
Although she primarily specializes in fiction, Rebecca has edited several scientific papers and has worked on nonfiction projects as well, such as memoirs.
Along with editing, Rebecca has completed two YA trilogies, one written solo and one written with a co-author. When she is not slaying adverbs or filling plot holes, Rebecca can be found writing, spending time with her family, or traveling as much as possible.
